Abstract

For A Long Time, Foreign Works Remained The Only Way To Write The History Of Modern And Contemporary Algeria, And The Latter Constituted The Initial Material On Which The Western School In General And The French In Particular Relied To Record The History Of Algeria, And This Was Evident In The Writings Of Their Writers And Historians, So These Studies Came Truncated Because They Relied On A Hostile Point Of View To Algeria, Its People And Its Government, And This Was Evident In Western Literature That Concerned The History Of Modern And Contemporary Algeria. Through Our Reading Of These Writings, It Is Clear That Algeria During The Modern Era Was A Region Witnessing A Cultural Vacuum And Intellectual Rigidity In Various
