صورة الفرق الإدارية المختّصة(S.A.S.) في كتابات جريدة المجاهد (1956-1958)

Abstract

Our main objective in this study is to trace the writings of El-Moudjahid newspaper during the period between 1956 and 1958, and to examine the image of « S.A.S. » as it was presented by the newspaper to its readers, both within Algeria and abroad. Our study addresses the subject from two angles: first, the representations of « S.A.S. » in El-Moudjahid and the image it created of this entity; and second, the interactions resulting from S.A.S.' activities and their impact on the organization of the local population. We are dealing with an apparatus that was intended to be a flexible tool, yet at the same time, it was an entity that infiltrated Algerian rural society. However, « S.A.S. » collided with a complex reality, some features of which were revealed through the writings of El-Moudjahid. This study covers three areas: first, the Algerian Revolution in its historical context; second, the parallel organization of the local population in the face of S.A.S.' control; and third, the other side of S.A.S.' activities. We relied on the writings of El-Moudjahid as our main source, and we also consulted various references that aided us in addressing the topic.
